Wee, jeg fik lige denne nyhed "live" på IRC. (#iphone-talk @ irc.osx86.hu) Hackerene på "The iPhone Dev Wiki" har lavet et lille program som kan pille direkte ved iPhone OS. Hvilket betyder at den nu er MEGET tæt på at være 100% hacket!

iPhoneInterface is a tool for Windows and Mac that permits you to manipulate the iPhone's state, launch services and interact with the chroot'd filesystem.

ls - list directories
cd - change directory
mkdir - make directory
rmdir - remove directory
deviceinfo - get device info
fileinfo - get file info
readvalue - read a value
activate - activate iPhone with plist
deactivate - deactivate iPhone
startservice - start service on iPhone

quit - exit shell

Boot Loader
We've successfully been able to issue commands to the boot loader. Right now, we've been limited to power off, but we have made significant progress to other commands. Some of the commands are radio commands. This is our key to wealth and prosperity. :-)

Unlocking
We know how to unlock the phone. The question is, can we get the commands to the radio to do so. We don't believe our method is the only method, but due to the help of some very smart folks, assuming we can get access to the radio, the firmware should be trivial to unlock.

iPhoneInterface
We've been very successful in writing a tool called iPhoneInterface to do some generic items on the phone and are releasing it tonight. We are including source code so you can understand our techniques. We will be expanding this tool significantly tomorrow. The best news for people is that we have prototype code for the following capabilities (not necessarily included in the first release):

* Running any application desired that's already on the phone
* A very hackish method to control what processes run on the phone
* Moving files around on the phone
* Getting the restore process working in verbose mode
* Activating the phone without iTunes and without a token

We have significant work continuing on this tool and tomorrow will probably have similarly worthwhile updates.

Hardware side
We are working on some prototype circuitry to access the debug capabilities of the phone. Stay tuned for more on this, I don't have any updates yet.
